RE FormsNet announces implementation of single sign-on capability utilizing SAML 2.0 technology
Pilot program with Victor Valley Association of REALTORS® underway
Los Angeles, CA - August 8, 2007 - RE FormsNet (REFN) today announced plans to implement a single sign-on (SSO) capability utilizing SAML 2.0 technology that will streamline the log-in process for real estate professionals utilizing the company’s suite of transactional products, including ZipForm®Online, WINForms Online®, and RELAY™ transaction management.
The SAML 2.0-enabled SSO capability also empowers real estate professionals to sign into compliant Multiple Listing Service (MLS) systems and their local and state REALTOR® association Web sites using a single username and associated password. A pilot program with the Hesperia, Calif.-based Victor Valley Association of REALTORS® in collaboration with Rapattoni’s SAML 2.0-enabled MLS software is underway as part of this effort. The CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® (C.A.R.) is concurrently developing an SSO capability in conjunction with REFN that will enhance the user experience of the nearly 200,000 members who visit the Association’s official Web site at www.car.org.
“RELAY™ continues to set the standard in transaction management technology,” said RE FormsNet Chairman of the Board Robert Bailey. “With SAML 2.0-based single sign-on support, our products have reached the next level of user friendliness and security management.
“Previously, real estate professionals had to manage and remember different sets of usernames and passwords for each of the applications or Web sites they use, from ZipForm® and RELAY™ to their MLS accounts,” he said. “This is both cumbersome and, in some instances, detrimental to good security practices.”
RELAY™, an Internet tool enabling real estate professionals to manage transactions and collaborate with clients and affiliates through a custom Web site, features one-click integration with ZipForm®Online and WINForms Online®. ZipForm®Online, and, in California, WINForms Online®, are the electronic forms software used by nearly 400,000 REALTORS® nationwide. With one-click integration, users can easily sync transaction data and completed electronic forms through a RELAY™ transaction Web site.
Now, through its use of SAML 2.0 technology, the transaction management repository in RELAY™ will be capable of storing encrypted single sign-on audit records, along with their digital signatures as part of the evidentiary chain related to closed transactions. There also is clear documentation of who performed a SSO, and where and when it was performed, all displayed in a secure format that cannot be repudiated.
“These high-assurance differentiators in RELAY™, ZipForm®Online and WINForms Online® exist in stark contrast with what other transaction management and forms vendors are offering,” said Bailey. “This is highly desirable in assuring home buyers and sellers, and other end users as well as insurance companies, that the applications and the users’ data are well protected.”
